Waltanna Farms is based in Hamilton, a pristine pocket of the South-West Victorian farming region in the fertile, basalt plains at the foothills of the Grampians.
For over 140 years the Nagorcka family have been cropping the land at Waltanna Farms. The family have a proud history of being global industry pioneers in the engineering of farming machinery, associated with the likes of Ford and John Deere. After five generations, our innovative spirit lives on as we continue to lead the way in the production and processing of superior quality crops.
Our business thrives on extended family, a talented team of cropping and production experts, along with the continued support of our local Shire Council and community from the Wannon Electorate. Through our collaboration with industry partners, we are helping to revolutionise the Australian Agri food industry and helping to pave the way for the future of Australian farming and generations to come.
We are proud of our reputation for providing locally produced, competitive products that have low environmental impact.
Adaptive Farming & Science
Having identified the value of growing chemically free produce early on, we were ahead of our time when some of the Waltanna Farms paddocks becoming certifiably organic as early as 1998
Through our unique gate to plate quality management system, our ever-evolving production systems enable us to deliver consistently superior products. Our non-chemical crop management solutions include companion planting, regular crop rotation and sowing seeds consistently close together to deter weeds.
We proactively use existing farm assets for heat recovery, cooling and energy generation in our food production processes while also striving for zero waste through the innovative use of our by-products and cover crops.
Adaptive growing and processing techniques, together with decades of investment in science and research, have enabled us to build a reputation for accessible, palatable and nutritionally matchless products.
Regenerative Agriculture
We care about the health and wellness of future generations and are committed to following and investing in sustainable farming practices.
Our regenerative approach to farming focuses on improving the ecological health of our farmland, where we work with nature rather than against it. Traditional farming practices can strip nutrients from the soil leaving it depleted or destroyed. Our adaptable production systems promote soil health for optimal yields and nutritional benefits. As the world battles the loss of food-supporting topsoil to conventional farming methods, we strive to reverse these effects through the planting of cover crops and composting; more roots in the soil means less C02 in the atmosphere and leads to less topsoil erosion.
More than just chemical-free, organic farming, Regen Ag. is about improving the health of the growing paddock even before a single seed is planted, and nurturing the entire crop-growing process for the benefit of the whole ecosystem. In doing so, we create the most nutritionally dense crops with the maximum health benefits.
The holistic management of our farm enhances the ecosystem, conserving our precious natural resources and enriching the soil. Healthy soil is microbe-rich therefore the food grown in it is more nutritious. Ultimately, we ensure quality food is derived from quality land.
