Cheese Sauce
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Serves: (For use in lasagna recipe and cheesy cauliflower recipe)
Ingredients:
- 600mL milk (can use plant based)
- 3 Tbls Waltanna Foods Plain Gluten Free Flour
- 1 Tsp Flax Sprinkle / can use yeast flakes
- 1 Tsp cracked pepper
- 150g tasty cheese shredded (can use vegan cheese)
- Optional: Add ½ tsp nutmeg ground, pinch of chilli powder
Method:
- Add half the milk into a sauce pan
- Whisk spices into milk
- Add the cheese and heat on low, stirring constantly until cheese dissolves
- Whisk flour into the other half of milk (while still cold)
- Add the milk/flour mix slowly to the milk/cheese mix, whisking/stirring constantly
- Cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes until it starts to thicken.
- Remove from heat
- Add to cooked pasta for mac and cheese, for lasagna, or for cheesy cauliflower.
